Oh, oh, oh... it would be such a pleasure again to have a piece of gooseberry pie or crisp.
When I lived in Wichita, I had some gooseberry bushes and learned to enjoy the pleasure of the fruit. The only problem was racing against the birds to see who got the most berries. I know that birds really like them and they can quickly strip a bush.
It brings back some good memories, so thanks for sharing!
And, yes, they are a pain to pick and clean, but the rewards are tremendous!
