Homemade Apple/Gooseberry Pie

Damn, it was a lot of work getting a quart of fresh gooseberries to the state you see them above ~ cleanin' them lil' buggers is a giant PITA ~ now I understand why canned gooseberries are so expensive.

I cain't wait to dive into this bad boy ... just happen to have a half gallon of dat good Blue Bell homestyle vanilla ice cream in the freezer, too ... coincidence? I think not.

You are killing me with that apple/gooseberry pie.

That makes me wish that I was back in Wichita on the property where I had the gooseberry bushes.

Yes, they are a PITA, but the reward is well worth it -- especially if you are going to top it with Blue Bell Homestyle Vanilla Ice Cream.
