Just Added To My Bucket List

Cruise the Blueridge Parkway thru Appalachia, during the fall foliage season, on a big ol' Harley Electra-Glide

Manicured Lawns Are Highly Overrated

OK OK ... so I'm sittin' out on the front porch this fine afternoon, sippin' a cold beer & listening to some BB King ... just really kickin' back and enjoying being alive ... and all the sudden mah lil' petite flower, Olga, comes out and commences to raggin' on me something awful about mowing the grass. Now I ask you ... does this grass need mowin' yet? HUHHH?? Hell no, it don't. Sometimes I just don't understand women.

Coping

Two guys are sitting in a bar, one of them looking very glum.

Joe asks, "What's the matter?"

The glum guy replies, "My wife walked out three days ago. Never came back. Said she was only going out for a carton of milk."

Joe says, "That's not good. How are you coping?"

The glum fellow cheers up and says, "Surprisingly OK. It's amazing how fast you get used to black coffee!"

Chuck Berry ~ Promised Land

Sister Mary Katherine

Sister Mary Katherine entered the Monastery of Silence.

The Priest said, 'Sister, this is a silent monastery. You're welcome here as long as you like, but may not speak until directed to do so.'

Sister Mary Katherine lived in the monastery for 5 years before the Priest said to her, 'Sister Mary Katherine, you have been here for 5 years. You may speak two words.'

Sister Mary Katherine said, 'Hard bed.'

'Sorry to hear that,' the Priest said, 'We'll get you a better bed.'

After another 5 years, Sister Mary Katherine was summoned by the Priest. 'You may say another two words, Sister Mary Katherine.'

'Cold food,' said Sister Mary Katherine, and the Priest assured her that the food would be better in the future.

On her 15th anniversary at the monastery, the Priest called Sister Mary Katherine into his office. 'You may say two words today.'

'I quit,' said Sister Mary Katherine.

'It's probably best,' said the Priest, 'You've done nothing but bitch since you got here.'

Beer Smarts by Cliff Clavin

The human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Cliff Clavin ~ Cheers

Whitey Morgan And The 78's

A Nickel's Worth Of Grits

Caramelized onions, garlic & sausage added to the grits

And of course, a lil' dat good Tillamook cheddar

Garlic Stuffed Baked Texas 1015 Onion

Topped with parmesan & ready to be wrapped in foil & baked

Big ol' knob of butter to seal in the garlic clove

Lil' crater stuffed with a whole garlic clove, which btw is to die for after it's baked. I like to take the baked garlic clove after it's baked & schmear it on a grilled steak or a piece of crusty bread.

Onion crater, carved out with a melon baller tool ~ easy peasy.

The Nine Totems

We Live Here

The Native American Indians believe people have nine animal essences or totems that walk through life with them ... teaching guiding and protecting them. These nine totems remain the same throughout your lifetime; however, major life alterations can cause your totems to change as you adapt to your new life style. Your totems are found in 7 directions around your spirit: East, South, West, North, Above, Below and Within. The last two animals are walking beside you at all times; your Right Side (male) and your Left Side (female). My male totem is the American Bison ... and my female totem is a Deer. Do you know your animal totem?
